First off, if you missed it the other night (Sun 31st July) you might try and catch up with "War And Justice: The Case of Marine A" - a great, challenging documentary directed by Stephen Bennett. I was glad to compose the music.
On Friday Teenage Fanclub travelled to Galicia to play the Ribeira Sacra festival.
En route I made a wee playlist:
I'll never make it as a DJ. But how about that Eddie Van Halen guitar solo in Beat it?
On Sat morning I visited a wee gem of a museum. When he was 10 years old Dario Lodeiro carved a flute and a figure of Christ out of wood:

The Museo Lodeiro exclusively houses his work; wood and stone sculptures and paintings.

Some of his carved stone faces could be Quentin Blake drawings |

The stage was outdoors in the ground of a vineyard. Beautiful.
After soundcheck we had a jaunt down the river on a Catamaran while an acoustic duo performed the whole of Neil Young's Harvest album.
The gig was great. And so was the wine.
Our hotel was once a monastery.
Now serving splendid breakfasts.
Some Galician grated tomato last week. |
And schlepped up the road blethering and listening to Electric Dreams.
Some recent drawings...
