Loved this:
If Billy Connolly is our Bob Dylan (a fellow rule-breaking enigmatic solo acoustic backwater troubadour who broke through to huge, influential acclaim from the folk scene) - Big Banana Feet is his Don't Look Back.
I saw Richard Thompson live in Glasgow.
As long as this pops up at the good ol' GFT every once in a while, there are two hours of solace to be had in these crazy times:
Morricone is gone but his his art shines on.
Oh - I saw Taylor Swift on the second night of her Edinburgh residency!
'twas joyous!
If you want a wee greet you could:
A) Read Little Donkey by Wendy Cope;
B) Watch the brilliant final episode of Inside No. 9 ("If you must cry / Cry tears of laughter...");
C) Listen to the introduction to Michel Mosley's last interview.
D) Do all of the above.
I am delighted that two documentaries for which I composed music otherwise why would I mention it won at the Royal Television Society Scotland Awards:
"Keeping It Up: The Story Of Viagra" (Two Rivers Media; Storyville/BBC TWO) directed by Stephen Bennett;
And:
"Loch Ness: They Created A Monster" (Hopscotch Films; BBC Scotland) directed by John MacLaverty.
Talking of documentaries - I recommend this.
People of Glasgow that don't know about this restaurant - now you do.
Anyway. Here comes some art that you didn't ask for...
I just got some sad news about the passing of Jeremy Tepper. A great character. A loving husband and dad. He will be missed by so, so many.
