Cork & Galway

So - Teenage Fanclub's jaunt to Cork was fun.

We played some new songs. I caught up with a couple of the lads from Boa Morte. Guinness, Murphy's and Beamish were tried and tested. (Verdict: they were all nice.) I visited The Crawford Gallery...

...and also a few Young Offenders Locations. Never saw Conor or Jock, though I hear they have started filming a fourth series - so hooray for that!

Galway was grand. Hot. We played "God Knows It's True" for the first time in yonks after a wee run through at the soundcheck.

I found a nice art shop and had a look in the Galway Arts Centre.

If I lived there I think I might turn into a Pistachio and Raspberry Slice before too long.

A Pistachio & Raspberry Slice in Galway recently.

Oh and Monroe's do a *delicious* stew.

Norman couldn't resist introducing us to this....

I swear after after a few sips I was getting hints of Barr's American Cream Soda.

Next stop for Teenage Fanclub = Norway at the end of the month.

All upcoming live dates are here.

Meanwhile back at the ranch, I am composing TV music and doing this:

May the road rise up to meet you. x

Lepanto? Si

I liked this Tina Turner tale.

Once Upon A Time In Northern Ireland is one of the best documentary series I've ever seen. A diverse range of fascinating stories about The Troubles. Not an easy watch but I was riveted.

Is Desert Island Discs the best radio programme ever? I don't know but the Ronnie O'Sullivan and Jeremy Bowen episodes both hooked me in.

For all kinds of reasons I loved the 40th anniversary screening of Bill Forsyth's Local Hero at the good ol' Glasgow Film Theatre.

What a gift to Scotland and the world.

I finally made it here. I liked it.

Spanish Brandy Update...

...me gusta.

I've made a start on this and it is immediately great, as is to be expected...

I have been dipping in to this podcast. I'd say the John Waters one is as good a place to start as any. Or here's another groovy way in:

On the subject of art (voice from the back: "Oh, god, no...")...
